Controller

JOB TITLE: Controller

DEPARTMENT: Accounting                              

DIVISION: Corporate Services

FLSA: Exempt                                                         

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Responsible for directing certain accounting functions and reporting, managing investment records, coordinating audit process, and preparing accounting statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).  Prepares regulatory reports, assists in the development of policy and procedures, including meeting with and coordinating activities with other departments.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares financial statements for internal and external use in accordance with GAAP.
  • Assists the CFO in implementing new accounting pronouncements.
  • Will develop and manage branch profitability reporting systems.
  • Responsible for daily cash and liquidity management, including Correspondent Banks’ cash position.
  • Manages pertinent aspects of the general ledger and oversees the reconciliation process.
  • Interacts with and manages accounting staff job responsibilities and workload.
  • Prepares quarterly Call Reports, and various Federal Reserve reports as needed.
  • Assists CFO and AVP with monthly Board Reports.
  • Prepares Managerial Reports for Executive team and bank employees as needed.
  • Oversees Accounts Payable functions.
  • Works with the CFO to prepare the annual budget, including updated forecasts throughout the year. Will also participate in the development of long-term Strategic Plans.
  • Will complete projects and schedules in conjunction with various internal and external audits, also with creating and maintaining policies and procedures.
  • Assists the CFO in the preparation of Asset/Liability management and Interest Rate Risk reporting on a quarterly basis.
  • Participates in the preparation and collection of data in conjunction with Regulatory examinations.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (BBA); Major in Accounting preferred

  • LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred

  • RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:

Five (5) years accounting experience required; Prior supervisory and banking experience preferred.

JOB TITLE: Personal Banker II

DEPARTMENT: Bank Location                           

DIVISION: Bank Operations

PRIMARY FUNCTION

 

Retain and expand customer relationships, solicit new retail business from existing and     prospective customers by offering bank products and services while maintaining service          standards, transaction responsibilities, and providing sincere responsive customer service.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Greet customers and non-customers as they enter the bank.
  • Assist customers in opening new DDA, traditional Savings, IRAs, and Certificates of Deposit (CDs) by explaining our products and services to help customer in making their choice. Communicate disclosure requirements and regulations to customers in accordance with regulatory guidelines; provide disclosures and brochures as needed.
  • Originate and close consumer loans; handle the collection of all required loan documents and forward to consumer loan operations for processing.
  • Follow procedures to avoid fraud. Determine eligibility of new accounts and whether to place holds on checks deposited to new accounts.  Follow compliance procedures of reporting applicable transactions such as CTRs, SARs, and Reg CC holds.
  • Contribute to the profitability and growth of the bank location by selling and cross-selling banking products and services. Work in a sales oriented environment through direct customer contact.  Identify and respond to the needs of new and potential customer by listening and clarifying their needs.  Make referrals to other Legend Bank departments as best meets the needs of the customer. Send thank you cards and make follow-up calls to all new accounts.
  • Responsible for reviewing more complex account documentation (e.g. Power of Attorney; trust and estate documents). Perform necessary account maintenance for customers as requested.  Assists other Personal Bankers in checking their daily work and maintaining files.

  • Perform other functions as necessary to help our customers with their needs. May include notary services, providing account information, selling and maintaining safe deposit boxes, issuing debit cards, assisting with disputes, helping customer with account reconciliation and problem resolution.
  • Responsible for providing passionate customer service while maintaining a high rate of accuracy and efficiency. Maintain a professional appearance in both dress and behavior.  Mental concentration and attention to detail is necessary for tolerating frequent interruptions.  Maintain the security and confidentiality of pertinent information and records.
  • Develop and maintain proficiency with job related systems and equipment by attending bank training and reading related materials.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • EDUCATION:

High school education or equivalent required

  • LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

None

  • RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:

Six (6) months new accounts experience with a bank required.  Demonstrates both the ability and desire to perform the aforementioned tasks with proficiency.
